A Codex pet is a tiny animated companion that lives in the Codex desktop app.
Each package is a folder with pet.json plus a spritesheet — drop it into
~/.codex/pets/ and wake it with /pet.
Big dumps bury good pets under noise. We surface featured and higher-quality companions first, then popular and newest — so you spend less time scrolling and more time picking one you’ll keep.
Download both files from a pet page, create
~/.codex/pets/<id>/, copy them in, then refresh Custom Pets under
Settings → Appearance → Pets. Full steps on the install guide.
